iPad Trade-In Guide: Models, Values & What We Pay
iPads are built to last. A 3-year-old iPad Pro is still a beast. That means they have incredible resale value—often much more than you'd expect.
1. Which iPad Do I Have?
Apple's naming is confusing. "iPad Air" could mean the one from 2013 or 2024.
- Go to: Settings > General > About.
- Look for: "Model Name" (e.g., iPad Pro 11-inch 3rd Gen).
2. WiFi vs. Cellular
Does your iPad have a black/white plastic line on the back edge? Or a SIM card tray?
- Cellular + WiFi models are worth $30-$80 more than WiFi-only models.
- Don't forget to remove your SIM card before selling!
3. Accessories Add Value
Unlike phones, iPad accessories are high-value items.
- Magic Keyboard: Can add $50-$100 to the deal.
- Apple Pencil: Adds $30-$50.
- Bring them with you when you sell!
4. Engravings?
Did you get "Happy Birthday Tom" laser-engraved on the back?
- Good news: It usually lowers value very slightly or not at all for us.
- Bad news: Some private buyers hate it.
- Verdict: Selling to a professional buyer (like us) is often easier with engraved items.
5. Pricing Guide (Estimates)
- iPad Pro M2/M4: High demand. Top dollar.
- iPad Air (4th/5th Gen): Very strong value for students.
- iPad Mini 6: Niche but stable value.
- Base iPad (9th/10th Gen): Lower value, but we buy them in bulk!
